Immanuel

Immanuel is one of the names given to Jesus. It means God with us. Ponder this idea for a moment. Jesus left the glory of heaven, for the brokenness of our world, just so He could be with us. Then after Jesus’ death, burial, resurrection and ascension, the Holy Spirit came. Before Jesus was among the people, He was with His followers. Now the Holy Spirit dwells within us. He is the seal of our salvation (Eph 2). He convicts us of our sins (John 16:8). He guides us (John 16:13. He is our helper (John 14:26). He empowers us to live the life that God calls us to (Acts 1:8). He gives us spiritual gifts to use for the kingdom (1 Cor 12:7-11).

Pause for a moment and realize how amazing it is that God dwells with us. He is with us everywhere we go. He is with us every minute of every day. There is not anything that we face that He cannot walk us through. We are blessed to have the holy spirit in our lives.
